The A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation of Bourne, MA was co-founded by family members of ALS patients with the belief that once you are affected by this terrible disease, you become part of our family. Specifically it was founded in memory of Edward J. Sciaba, Sr., Clifford Jordan, Jr.and Janice Ferrara. The Ferrara Family and Superior Rail & Iron Works have generously sponsored the Walk every year and remain deeply committed to the ALS cause.
SRI Supports Scholar Athletes
Superior Rail & Iron Works, Inc. is a Proud Sponsor or Scholar Athletes
The mission of Scholar Athletes is to support academic achievement through athletics.
The programs put in place by Scholor Athletes enhance the scholar-athlete experience, provide regular instruction to the coaching staff, and improve academic performance and personal growth. These collaborative efforts build skills, confidence, shape character, and enhance opportunities for success. Together we play to achieve!
The signature component of the SA model is the Zone, dedicated school-based learning centers designed and resourced to support and encourage students to set academic and athletic goals, gain needed support to help them stay on track, and provide them with access and opportunities to explore post-secondary options. The Zones are staffed, managed and funded by Scholar Athletes, and are available for use during the day and after-school by all students, athletes and non-athletes alike, in grades 9-12. Services provided in the Zone are free of charge to the students.
