The company was founded in 1963 by Lenny Ferrara, Sr. in an old renovated mill building in Stoughton, Mass as a residential fabricator of home ornamental railings. Two years later the business grew and moved into a new building on Mill Street in Stoughton. In the early 1970’s as Lenny Ferrara, Jr. took the reins from his father, SRI expanded into the commercial market, supplying steel stairs, aluminum railings, ornamental railings and light structural steel to a number of local contractors.

As SRI’s commercial market expanded to projects throughout the New England area, the company purchased 25+ acres on Route 106 in East Bridgewater, Mass and in 1986  erected a 27,000 square foot facility, which houses 21,000 square feet of fabrication and painting facilities as well as 6,000 square feet of office space. The additional acres are planned for future developments as the company continues to grow.

Anthony J. Ferrara currently manages the day to day operations of SRI and will become the third generation owner.
